MALINNA°'s philosophy is to create each product to have a positive impact on the natural skin barrier. During the winter, our skin barrier is more vulnerable, which is why it is important to take extra care of it.
A compromised skin barrier is prone to loss of hydration, irritation, eczema, inflammation, hypersensitivity, and accelerated aging. Read why this happens especially in winter and how to prevent it.
What happens to the skin barrier in winter?
One of the important parts of the skin barrier is made up of lipids. This lipid part of the skin barrier is constantly renewed along with new skin cells and includes various types of lipids, of which ceramides are a critical component. Declining levels of ceramides are associated with dry skin, eczema, inflammation, etc.
During the winter and as we age, the amount of ceramides decreases, which is why our skin often feels dry and sensitive in the winter. However, we can increase and replenish ceramide levels by using appropriate cosmetics that protect and strengthen the skin barrier.

A rich source of natural ceramides is jojoba oil (96%), hemp oil (60%) and sesame oil (45%). Jojoba oil can be found in Rose Repairing Cream and Lavender Sensitive Cream . Sesame oil can be found in Immortelle Anti-Aging Cream .
Sesame oil is also in the Cleansing Foam and Face Wash , which you can use to refill the foam repeatedly, and they are also rich in hemp oil.
In winter, it is also important to avoid taking excessively hot and long showers or washing your face with hot water, which increase the loss of lipids in the skin. Use gentle soaps such as Cleansing Foam or Body Serum .
