Rozi Zacharov is the mother of son Vilém and the Pokojovka project . She lives in Prague close to nature, where she tries to balance between the roles of mother, wife and entrepreneur. When she has time and energy left over, she likes to stretch herself in yoga, travel and walk in the forest, and keep her hands busy with creative projects. She gravitates towards a slow and sustainable life, although life with a small child is often a ride. You can follow her on Instagram under @rozizacharov .
First thing you did today?
"I petted my son because he often comes to sleep in the middle of the night. Then there's a shower, often an ice shower, which really wakes me up."
Are you reading now?
,, The book Years by French author Annie Ernaux, awarded with the Nobel Prize for Literature. It is an autobiographical book describing events from the life of one woman and the whole of France between 1940 and 2006. At the moment, I am enjoying Leandra Medine Cohen's newsletter called The Cereal Aisle the most. The former founder of the cult project Man Repeller writes incredibly smartly, wittily, and at the same time her outfits are full of inspiration. The Design Filter newsletter by Eva Slunečková is also great."
What does the word "wellness" mean to you?
" Especially time alone, which I don't have much of anymore. It's the best way for me to relax. It doesn't even have to be in the traditional sense of the word wellness, like going to the sauna or getting cosmetics (although I love that too), but maybe just going to coffee and reading by myself. My friends and nature also recharge me a lot .. ”
What is your evening ritual?
" During the cold days, just a long bath, which is my low-key version of home wellness simply because no one is allowed in there." I often just lie in the hot water and enjoy the silence. Ideally then finished with my beauty routine."
A popular MALINNA° product.
" Certainly Elixirs, because I believe that one must always start with internal care. I listened to the podcast with the founder Dominika and I really like the philosophy behind their production. Now I use the Elixir Mint the most, which will hopefully help me in the fight against spring hay fever."
Why Pokojovky?
" We founded Pokojovky in 2017 at a time when there was no similar project. It made conceptual sense to us, we enjoyed the topic and we really wanted to start our own business. When we noticed that there was a lot of interest in maids, we started the project more. We have published books on growing, opened a store, and are doing big projects. Even after 6 years, it is still a beautiful and fulfilling job. Even though it's not nearly as punk as it was at the beginning, we still have clay everywhere."
When do you feel most creatively fulfilled?
,, I really enjoy learning new things, then I completely come alive. I'm not the most skilled manually, but I still try. I have taken courses in sewing, ceramics, and I make wreaths at home. Last year, I was able to knit a sweater the most creatively. It's definitely not perfect, but I'm very happy with it. In those ordinary moments, he can make me happy when I find something nice for a vase on a walk, or when I sew up the holes in Vilém's pants well."
Favorite souvenir that she brought back from her travels:
" From the trip to Mallorca, we brought small painted tiles with letters that together make the word KLID. All three of us can sometimes be a bit explosive at home, and when the mood and emotions start to escalate, it's a good reminder to keep a cool head."
I own a collection..
,, .. of different nature, which either I or my son bring home. We have sticks, stones, shells and the like all over the apartment. And then, of course, POKOJOVKY.”
Your wellbeing guru:
" As for the way of life, I like to be inspired by Julie O'Rourke, aka Rudy Jude. It's just an Instagram reality, but I believe it's not that far from the truth. I like the balance between (meaningful) business and family life close to nature. She is authentic and I really enjoy her outfits and the overall aesthetics of the things she surrounds herself with."
