Shea butter

Every ingredient we use has its own story. We believe that the origin and quality of ingredients have a fundamental impact on the benefits of the resulting products for our skin. The same is true for shea butter, which forms the basis of MALINNA creams.

Organic and fair trade

Traditionally, only women can harvest and process the shea nut. Our supplier ensures that these women and farmers receive a fair wage so that they do not have to worry about their income and can afford to send their children to school. Raw quality shea butter is harvested and processed by hand, using traditional gentle methods that allow for the maximum preservation of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Each shea nut passes through the caring hands of African women, as has been the case for centuries.

Beneficial shea butter and its effects on the skin

Shea butter has a lipid profile close to the skin, which is why it forms the basis of our creams. Thanks to the unique know-how with which we further process shea butter, it becomes water-soluble and therefore does not clog pores. A unique ingredient in its processing is biodynamic therapeutic sea salt from the Croatian town of Nin. It unlocks the beneficial substances contained in shea butter, improves their absorption and makes them more available to the body.

Shea butter has a unique composition of substances beneficial to the skin

Stearic acid strengthens the skin barrier function, soothes and protects it from irritation, has excellent moisturizing effects. It protects the skin from water loss and signs of aging.

Allantoin is a soothing substance that significantly aids healing and can also be found in chamomile, for example. Allantoin significantly improves cell turnover, so you will appreciate it if you have problematic skin. It also has great brightening properties.

Vitamin A is a key ingredient in the fight against aging – it supports cell turnover, stimulates collagen production, fights wrinkles and has an anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, shea butter contains vitamin A in its natural, non-irritating form, easily absorbed by the skin.
